Setting up 2-Factor Authentication

Turn on 2-factor authentication to add an extra layer of security to your account.

Updated over 9 months ago

1. What is 2-factor authentication

The 2-factor authentication is an extra layer of security to make the login process safer. It's used to ensure that people trying to access an online account are who they say they are.

When logging into your Salonized account, you will first need to enter your username and password. And then, instead of immediately accessing your account, you will be asked to provide another piece of information.

When 2-factor authentication is enabled, you must enter a verification code along with your password every time you log into your Salonized account. It's easy and protects your information even better 🙂

Now you can easily add one more layer of protection by enabling the 2-factor authentication in your Salonized account with a phone number or an authenticator app.

2. Authentication channels

You can get authentication codes in 2 ways:

  • SMS: you will receive an SMS from Salonized with a code. This requires you to share a phone number in your account.

  • Authenticator app: download a security app to generate the codes. You don’t need to add a phone number in your account for this option. For this option we recommend using Google Authenticator.
