Getting started with the Register

What the Register is, how to access it, its core features, and what you need to set up for usage

The Register is Salonized's point-of-sale: the place where you check out customers, take payments, and keep track of your daily sales. This article covers what it is, how to get started, and what to set up first if you're in France or Germany.

What is the Register?

The Register is your central hub for daily sales and financial tracking. It's where you turn appointments, services, products, gift cards, and prepaid cards into a paid invoice, and where you keep track of the cash and card payments that come in over the course of the day.

How do I access the Register?

Open your Salonized account and click the cart icon in the left sidebar.

What can I do in the Register?

The Register is made up of a few tabs, each covering a different part of your daily sales workflow:

  • Checkout: add services, products, appointments, gift cards, or prepaid cards to an invoice and take payment.

  • Sales: a history of every invoice you've generated, with its number, date, staff member, customer, total, and status.

  • Day overview: an overview of the appointments completed on a specific working day.

  • Drawer: your opening amount, current cash balance, payment methods, and transaction descriptions.

  • Cashups: a record of every end-of-day closure, including location, opening/closing times, and who closed it.

  • Salonized Pay: activate Salonized Pay to accept card payments via Adyen, or view your dashboard if it's already active.

  • Gift Cards: a detail screen for every gift card sold, including purchase date, amount used, and expiry.

What do I need to set up before I start?

In some countries, local law requires your sales to be recorded and signed in a specific way. We support this through an integration with Fiskaly, set up under Settings > Integrations > Fiskaly:

  • France: Fiskaly is mandatory — the Register cannot be opened until it's enabled, and it's included in your subscription at no extra cost. See [LINK: "Using the Fiskaly integration in France, ensuring a compliant register"] for the full setup steps.

  • Germany: German law (KassenSichV) requires a certified technical security element for your cash register. This is available as an optional add-on for €12/month — contact our support team through chat to have it enabled for your account. See Implementation of the German Cash Register Security Regulation (KassenSichV) for the full details.

Outside of France and Germany, there's no extra setup needed — you can start using the Register right away.
