How can I send Salonized emails from my own domain?

Discover how to send Salonized emails from your own domain to elevate your branding.

Updated today

By default, Salonized sends emails to your customers using a standard address: [your_salon_name]@email.salonized.com. However, if you want to elevate your branding and build even more trust with your clients, you can link your own professional domain (e.g., yoursalonname.com) directly to your account.

In this article, you will find everything you need to know about custom domains and a step-by-step guide on how to verify your domain and manage your DNS settings to ensure your communication looks exactly how you want it.

What is a custom domain?

  • A custom domain is one that you own and pay for (e.g., info@yoursalonname.com). This enables you to maintain a professional email presence that aligns with your brand.

  • Free domains, such as Gmail.com, Outlook.com, or iCloud.com, are not custom domains.

  • If you don't currently own a domain, check out providers like Squarespace, GoDaddy, and IONOS. While these are popular choices, feel free to explore other providers to find the best fit for your budget and business needs.

How can I send Salonized emails from my own custom domain?

To send your Salonized emails from your own domain, you must first verify it using Domain Name System (DNS) records. These records permit Salonized to verify that you are the owner of the domain. Here’s how to do it:

  1. In Salonized, go to Settings > Company > Edit Company Information > Domain Settings.

  2. Enter your own domain in the Contact email address field and press Save.

  3. Copy the three CNAME records that are now displayed.

    • Note that each CNAME record has two parts (NAME and VALUE).

    • You must add both parts for each CNAME record to your DNS settings in step 5.

  4. Log in to your domain provider and go to the DNS settings.

    • You can search online for '[name of your domain provider] DNS settings' to find relevant instructions. Here are example instructions from some well known domain providers (Squarespace, GoDaddy, IONOS).

  5. Add the three CNAME settings (DNS records).

  6. Save the changes.

And that’s it! You will just have to wait for the DNS settings to be modified and updated (this can take up to 72 hours). While you wait, you can go back to the Salonized domain settings page and click ‘Check verification status’.

For questions about DNS settings, please contact your domain service provider. For all other questions, contact our support team. We will be happy to help you.
