⚠️ We are aware of an issue affecting Micro-sites linked to registered domains.
If you have linked your registered domain with your Micro-site, it might show as "not secure" in the browser. Please either:
Un-link your registered domain name → With this option, your Microsite will load via. your default Salonized URL and will display as secure. To do this, go to Admin > Micro-site and de-select the setting called:
Show my micro-site when using my domain
.
Leave the set-up as it is → With this option, your Microsite will continue to load via. your registered domain, but it might display as "not secure" in the browser.
The Salonized Micro-site gives you a professional-looking website that stays up to date and in sync with your Salonized account. Best of all, it's free with your Salonized subscription!
The Micro-site is a responsive website that can be created in just a few minutes. It is the easiest way to help your customers to:
make online appointments
learn about your services and prices
learn about your salon
With the Salonized Micro-site, you'll get your own domain name which looks like this:
[your-salon-name].salonized.com
Your domain name can be found by going to: Settings -> Micro-site.
🔗 Linking your own registered domain to the Micro-site
It is possible to link your own registered domain to your Micro-site. To do this, you first need to get your own registered domain. You can do this through companies like; https://www.mijndomein.nl/, http://www.transip.nl/ or http://www.sohosted.nl/.*
* Please do your own research before choosing a domain provider to ensure that it is suitable for your needs.
Before you link your own domain, your Micro-site URL will look something like this:
salon-toby.salonized.com
After you link your own registered domain, your Micro-site URL will look something like this:
salon-toby.nl
⚙️ How to set it up
After you have registered your domain name, you must log in to your domain name provider and apply some settings. Each domain provider is different, so we have tried to describe the steps you need to complete in a generalised way. If you need help with these steps, we advise that you contact your domain provider.
Go to DNS management. Here you'll get a list of all variations on your domain name and the addresses of the servers to which this should be linked
If a record called "www" already exists, you have to modify or delete it. If it is not listed then you must add a new record
The type of record you need is called a "CNAME". Enter "www" in the "domain name" or "subdomain" field
You can enter www.salonized.com as the server address
Changing the DNS can take up to 72 hours, although often this is done within 30 minutes.
If you have any questions about domain settings, please contact your domain provider. For all other questions, get in contact with our super support team!
