What do I need to know about the loyalty point system?

Discover how to use loyalty points to strengthen the relationship with your customers.

Updated yesterday

A great loyalty system is your best tool for turning one-time visitors into regulars. In Salonized, you can enable an automated system that allows customers to save points effortlessly. This article covers how to activate the feature, the different ways customers can earn points, and where to track their balances.

What are loyalty points?

The loyalty point system is a digital reward program designed to build customer retention. Instead of manual punch cards, Salonized automates the process:

  • Digital Savings: It allows customers to save points automatically in their profile.

  • Incentive to Return: The system acts as a motivator for customers to visit your salon more often.

  • Flexible Rewards: You can decide how points are earned and how they can eventually be redeemed for discounts or services.

How do I activate the loyalty point system?

To get started with the feature, you need to enable it within your account settings:

  1. Open the Settings by clicking on the gear icon in the bottom left.

  2. Under ‘Sales’, click ‘Loyalty Points’.

  3. Choose how they can earn points based on the options provided on the page.

  4. Click ‘Save’ to confirm your changes.

How can my customers earn points?

There are several ways to configure how points are calculated:

  • Based on total spend: Customers earn a point when a certain amount is spent.

    • Example: For every 10 euros spent on products, treatments, gift cards, etc., the customer receives 1 point.

  • Based on products: Customers earn a point when a certain amount is spent on products.

    • Example: For every 10 euros spent on products, the customer receives 1 point.

  • Based on services: Customers earn a point when a certain amount is spent on a service.

    • Example: For every 10 euros spent on treatments, the customer receives 1 point.

  • Per service: Customers earn 1 point for every paid treatment.

    • Example: If a customer had 3 treatments and bought 2 products, they will receive 3 points at checkout.

  • Per invoice: Customers earn one point for every invoice.

    • Example: After paying an invoice, the customer receives 1 point (1 invoice = 1 loyalty point).

  • Per product: Customers earn 1 point for every paid product.

    • Example: If a customer bought 2 products and had 1 treatment, they will receive 2 points at checkout.

Note: Loyalty points are allocated per invoice. For example, if your settings are "customer earns 1 point per 5 euros", and the customer pays 21.50, they will receive 4 points. If the next invoice is 4.95, the customer will receive no points for that specific invoice.

Where can I see a customer's loyalty point balance?

You can easily track a customer's rewards status directly during the checkout process:

  1. Open the Register (cart icon) on the left sidebar.

  2. Type the customer’s name in the search bar on the right.

  3. The loyalty point balance becomes visible as soon as the customer is selected.
