Services with variations

Creating services with variations help you shorten your service list, making it more clear and efficient for both you and your customers.

Updated this week

What are Service Variations?

Service Variations allow you to group similar services into one main service, with variations underneath. For example, instead of listing "Massage 15 minutes," "Massage 30 minutes," and "Massage 45 minutes" as separate services, you can also create a service called "Massage" with different time and pricing options as variations.

Benefits

  • Declutter your list of Services: Grouping similar services simplifies your list, making it easier to manage and keep the overview;

  • Easier booking experience: Customers see fewer services in the booking widget, which leads to a smoother booking process and a better overview;

  • Efficient administration: Minimize redundancy and optimize update processes.

How to Create Service Variations

  1. Navigate to Settings > Services: In the Salonized app, go to the settings by clicking on the gear icon in the bottom left and find the "Services" page

  2. Create or edit a Service: Either create a new service or edit an existing one to start creating variations

  3. Add Variations: Find the "Add variation" button to add different variations in the popup, in the "General" tab

  4. Set details for each Variation: Customize the details of each variation, including the name, duration, price, and any special customization options like buffer time.

  5. Save changes: Once all variations are added, save your changes!

Example setup

  • Before:

    • Service 1: Haircut short hair

    • Service 2: Haircut medium long hair

    • Service 3: Haircut long hair

  • After:

    • Service 1: Haircut

      • Variation 1: short hair

      • Variation 2: medium long hair

      • Variation 3: long hair

In the example below, we have created a service called "Haircut" and added 2 variations: "Short hair" and "Long hair". You can see that you can set up the price & duration per variation.

The service shown above will look like this in the booking widget. Customers see a "from" price, a service description, and need to click on it to expand the full list of options/variations.

In the services page in the admin, services with variations are differentiated with a "lasagna"-like icon to the left of the name. You will also see the "From" price and number of variations in the list, like the example below.
