With the gift card widget, your customers can buy a gift card on your own website. They choose an amount, fill in their details and pay online. The gift card is then emailed to them. Find out everything you need to know about adding it to your website below.
What do I need before I can use the gift card widget?
You need an active payment provider, for example Mollie or Stripe, to accept the online payments. Until one is connected, the gift card widget page shows a warning with a button to the integrations page.
Which settings can I change for the gift card widget?
You find them on the gift card widget page, in three groups: main settings, style and sharing. Save your changes with the save button at the bottom.
Language: the language of the widget your customers see.
Expiry date: switch it on if gift cards sold online should expire, then choose 2, 3, 4 or 5 years.
Amounts: the amounts your customers can pick from. You can add or remove amounts, and let customers enter their own amount with a minimum and a maximum.
Personal message: a thank-you message customers see after they've paid, up to 140 characters. Without one, the widget shows a default message.
iDEAL: if your salon is in the Netherlands and you use Stripe, you can also turn on iDEAL payments. Activate iDEAL in Stripe first.
Colour: pick your own colour for the widget.
Picture: the picture in the gift card email. Choose the default, one of the suggested pictures or upload your own.
Sharing: choose how customers reach the widget: through a link, a button on your website or the widget on a page.
How do I show the gift card widget as a button on every page?
The button opens the widget on top of your page. Add the code to the footer of your website and the button shows on every page.
In the style group, pick your colour.
In the sharing group, choose the button view.
Choose whether the button sits on the right or the left.
Save your settings.
Copy the code below the sharing options and add it to the footer of your website.
How do I show the gift card widget on one page of my website?
You can also place the widget inside a specific page, for example a page about gift cards. You can add it to several pages.
In the style group, pick your colour.
In the sharing group, choose the widget view.
Choose the automatic width, or enter a width yourself.
Enter the height in pixels.
Save your settings.
Copy the code and add it to the page as HTML code.
Where do I find the code to add to my website?
Below the sharing options on the gift card widget page. The code shows for the button view and the widget view, not for the link view. Copy the entire code.
Do I need to add the code again when I change a setting?
If you change the colour, language, width, height or button position, yes, because those are part of the code. Save your settings first, then copy the new code and replace the old code on your website.
How do I share a link to the gift card widget?
In the sharing group, choose the link view. You then see a link you can copy and share.
Can I show the gift card widget on my website made with the app?
Yes, if you have a website through the app. Switch on the gift card widget on the settings card of your website dashboard. The toggle stays off until a payment provider is connected.
