How do I upload my salon photos?
Adding the photos of your salon is a powerful way to build. They offer your clients a preview of what to expect during the appointment and help them imagine their next visit.
While stock photos are a fine temporary fix, we recommend uploading at least five of your own horizontal photos to give customers an authentic feel for your atmosphere. Here’s how to upload them:
Log in to Salonized.
Click on the Treatwell icon on the left-head menu.
In your Treatwell dashboard click 'Upload your Salon pictures'.
You can upload only horizontal photos of the interiors, exteriors, tools and a personal portrait (no selfies).
Avoid using photos of models or specific treatments.
Save the changes.
Note: Any new photos uploaded will be visible on your Treatwell page within 24 hours.
Take a look at this article for the complete photography guidelines.
How do I add my salon description?
A welcoming and professional text helps potential clients feel confident in choosing you. Your salon description should highlight the most important information of your salon, such as its history, the nearest public transports, the team and what makes it special. To edit it:
Log in to Salonized.
Click on the Treatwell icon on the left-head menu.
In your Treatwell dashboard, select 'Salon description'.
Update your text.
Save the changes.
Note: Just like your photos, any changes will appear on the Marketplace within 24 hours.
How do I manage and sync my reviews?
Reviews play a fundamental role in your salon’s ranking. Data shows that customers are far more likely to choose salons with high ratings and recent feedback when making a booking.
To help you build your reputation, Salonized allows you to publish all your previous Salonized reviews to Treatwell at once. You can get this function as an extra if you have the Appointments package and are using the Treatwell integration. To make the most of this feature:
Ensure your feedback messages are set to 'Always send' in Salonized via Settings > Customers > Settings.
Encourage your existing customers to leave a review after their appointment.
Once activated, all new reviews will synchronize automatically.
Good to know: Once the 5th review gets published on Treatwell, you will get an extra visibility boost in the Treatwell Marketplace for two weeks, placing you higher in the search results temporarily.

How do I use last-minute discounts for a booking boost?
Some periods of the year can be pretty quiet in terms of bookings. Last-minute discounts help you to fill your agenda during these times and increase your visibility. You can use them with all Salonized plans. However, if you have a PRO plan, they will be visible in your booking widget too. Here’s why you should add them:
Improve your ranking: Setting a last-minute discount triggers a boost in the Treatwell ranking, helping you stand out to new customers.
Convert new customers into regular ones: Many customers use the "discount" filter on Treatwell to find deals, but then come back if they are satisfied with the service.
Note: Currently, only last-minute discounts synchronize with Treatwell. Variable pricing is not yet supported.
How do I choose my 5 popular treatments?
Popular treatments are the first thing a customer sees when they arrive on your Treatwell page. Here’s how to choose them wisely:
Indicate 5 services that are frequently booked and are attractive for new customers.
Keep in mind the pricing: If you only have 'expensive' services listed here, there is a high chance a customer will leave your page and interrupt the booking process.
Add main and supplementary services: If you only add touch-ups, customers that are booking with you for the first time won’t be encouraged to book.
Once you have chosen your 5 popular treatments, send our support team an email or chat message with their name and they will update them for you on your profile.
How do I organize my service and category structure?
To improve the booking experience of your customers, your service menu must be organized logically. Follow these recommendations to make sure it’s clear and easy to navigate:
Use names for services and categories that customers understand, so they know immediately what they can book.
If you need to use more technical names, further explain what the service entails. Here’s how:
Log in to Salonized.
Open the Settings page.
Select 'Services'.
Choose the service you want to edit.
Write any extra info in the 'Additional service information' box.
Pay attention to spelling errors and ensure it's easy to read.
Keep in mind the 'price factor':
E.g. If you offer PMU, facials, waxing, and nails, don’t show PMU first; these services are generally on the expensive side and the average spend on Treatwell is not very high.
The categories 'nails' and 'facials' are more popular on the Treatwell Marketplace, so place them at the top.
Adjust the order of categories if necessary. To do so:
Log in to Salonized.
Open the Settings page.
Select 'Services'.
Drag them or click the arrows to reposition them.
Here’s a comparison of good vs bad category order:
✅ Good Example (Logical) | ❌ Bad Example (Confusing) |
Nails | PMU |
Facials | Waxing UPPER BODY |
Waxing | nails feet |
PMU | Microneedling |
In the ‘Bad example’ column the order is not logical, capital and lowercase letters are mixed, and there is no hierarchy (some categories could be grouped into others).
Important: Your page organization is vital to the customer journey. A clear structure often makes the difference between securing a new booking and losing a customer to a more organized competitor.
How can I improve my visibility and communication?
Did you know that 40% of bookings happen outside of normal opening hours? To capture them, you need to make your booking link accessible everywhere.
Place your Treatwell and/or Salonized booking link in your Instagram bio, Facebook page, WhatsApp Business profile, and email signatures.
Make it as visible and clear as possible so the threshold to book an appointment remains low.
How do I optimise my schedule and availability?
The more "open" hours you have available on your calendar, the better the Treatwell filter can match your time slots with customer searches. To improve your ranking in search results and get more bookings:
Be available for booking at least 24 hours per week.
Double-check that your Salonized schedule is up-to-date and in perfect order to ensure you never miss an opportunity.
If you want to experiment with your calendar to boost your bookings:
Add some evening slots: Many customers can only visit after office hours. Opening up a few slots on weekday evenings could tap into a whole new client base.
Update your weekend availability: If you’re usually only open Monday through Friday, try opening for a few hours on the weekend to see if it attracts a different client base.
Note: If your calendar is already packed with appointments, your salon may appear less frequently in search results because there are fewer slots for new customers to grab.
How do I offer more flexibility to customers?
Treatwell users often book spontaneously, the same day of the appointment or even at the last minute. To increase the chances to be found and booked, ensure that the lead time (the time between booking an appointment and walking into the salon) is less than 1 hour in your Salonized account. To adjust it:
Go to Settings.
Select 'Online bookings'.
Click on 'Schedule Management'.
Under ‘Minimum gap between time of booking & start of appointment’. select your booking interval. You can select min. 30 minutes and max. 72 hours in advance.
