If you haven't set up a service with variations yet, start with What do I need to know about adding variations to a specific service?
Once a service has more than one variation, you can assign specific employees, rooms or devices to a single variation, instead of every variation sharing the same resources.
For example:
'Haircut (junior stylist)' can only be booked with a junior stylist.
'Haircut (senior stylist)' can only be booked with a senior stylist.
Find out how to set this up below.
How do I turn on different resources for each variation?
Go to 'Settings' → 'Calendar' → 'Services', then create or edit a service that has more than one variation.
Open the 'Resources' tab.
Turn on 'The required employees, rooms, and tools are different per variation in this service'.
Set the employees, rooms or devices each variation needs. You can give one variation a specific employee and leave another open to anyone qualified.
If a variation ends up with no employee, room or device assigned, clients won't see a bookable time slot for it in online booking. Check every variation has at least one resource before you save.
How do I set which variations an employee, room or device can be booked for?
You can also work from the other direction, and choose which service variations a specific employee, room or device is available for.
Go to 'Settings' → 'Company' → 'Employees' or 'Resources', then open the one you want to change.
Under 'This employee is available for the following services' (or 'This resource is available for the following services'), tick or untick the variations it should be bookable for.
