How to update and schedule Service Prices

Keep your service prices up to date by updating them immediately or scheduling changes for later. This guide covers everything you need to know about managing your service pricing.

Updated over a week ago

Quick Overview

With price updates, you can:

  • Update one or multiple service prices at once

  • Apply changes immediately or schedule them for a future date

  • Set year-end price increases in advance (e.g., December → January 1st)

  • Keep full control by setting exact prices for each service

How to Update Service Prices

Step 1: Access price updates

  1. Log into your Salonized account

  2. Go to Services in the main menu

  3. Click the Update Prices button at the top of the page

Step 2: Select Services to Update

You'll see a list of all your services. Select which ones you want to update by entering their new prices.

Important: You need to manually enter the exact new price for each service. There's no automatic percentage increase - this gives you full control over each pricing decision.

Step 3: Choose when to apply changes

You have two options:

Option 1: Update Now
Changes take effect immediately. Use this when you need to update prices right away.

Option 2: Schedule update
Pick a future date (like January 1, 2026) and your prices will update automatically on that date. Perfect for planning ahead.

Step 4: Review and Save

Double-check your new prices and chosen date, then click Save.

If you scheduled changes for later, they'll apply automatically on the date you selected - no need to remember or do anything else.

Why Schedule Price Changes?

Plan during quiet moments, apply during busy ones

December is hectic. By scheduling your 2026 prices in November, you can make thoughtful decisions when you have time - then let them go live automatically on January 1st while you're handling clients.

Communicate with confidence

When regulars book their end-of-year appointments, you can tell them about upcoming price changes because you've already planned them out. No surprises, no awkward conversations.

Stop relying on memory

How many times have you thought "I need to update prices in January" and then forgotten until February? Schedule it once and it happens automatically.

Focus on what matters

Your time is valuable. Spend it on clients and your craft, not on remembering admin tasks.

Important things to know

One scheduled update at a time

You can only have one scheduled price update active at a time. If you want to create a new schedule, cancel the existing one first. This ensures you don't accidentally have conflicting price changes scheduled.

New prices update everywhere automatically

When your scheduled date arrives, prices update in:

  • Your Salonized calendar

  • Online booking system

  • Point of sale

  • Anywhere clients can view or book your services

You don't need to update anything manually in multiple places.

Tips for communicating price changes

Use the custom alert for the booking widget

By using the custom alert in the booking widget, your customers are already aware of the upcoming price update

Tell clients in advance

Give regulars a heads-up during their appointments: "Just so you know, we're adjusting our prices starting January 1st. I wanted to make sure you knew before you book your next appointment."

Post in your salon

Put up a friendly notice a few weeks before: "New year, new prices! Starting January 1st, our service prices will be updated. Thanks for your continued support!"

Send a message

Use Salonized's messaging features to send a brief note to regular clients about upcoming changes.

Be confident

Price increases are normal and necessary. Don't apologize - frame it as investing in quality service, better products, or your team's expertise.
