You can receive a tip in two ways: you can ask for one on your card terminal while your client pays, or you can register a tip yourself when it reaches you another way. Here you can find out how to do both, and where to see your tips afterwards.
How do I turn on tipping for my card terminal?
You turn tipping on yourself, with the 'Allow tipping' switch on your Salonized Pay dashboard. The switch appears once you have a card terminal connected. If you can't find it, contact us - tipping on the terminal is not switched on for every salon yet.
Your client is then asked for a tip on the terminal while they pay. Read how tipping on the terminal works.
How do I register a tip that didn't come through the card terminal?
If your client pays cash, you have nothing to register - take the tip out and put it in the tip jar. When the tip arrives together with a card payment, you can register it in two steps:
In the 'Amount' field above the payment methods, enter the total your client actually pays, tip included, and choose 'Debit'.
Enter the tip again as a negative amount and choose 'Cash'. A payment line can be negative - only zero is refused.
Here is what that looks like in the register:
Your invoice will only show the treatment amount, so the tip stays out of your turnover and is still recorded.
Where can I see a tip I registered myself?
You will find it in the 'Drawer', as a line against the invoice number:
Where can I see tips taken on my card terminal?
A tip taken on the terminal is stored on the payment rather than on the invoice, and the register records only the treatment amount, so you will not find it in the 'Drawer'. You can see these tips in two places:
Under 'Reports' > 'Totals', choose 'Salonized Pay' as the payment method, then 'Show tips'.
Under 'Data export', the 'Tips' export gives you a file with the tip amount, the order, the appointment, the employee, and the treatment.
You will only see tips that were paid and above zero.
