Read this article to find out everything you need to know about creating discount codes, adding them to your booking widget, and disabling or deleting them.
How can I create a discount code for online bookings on Salonized?
In Salonized, you can create a discount code in just a few clicks. To do so:
Click on the 'Marketing' icon in the left menu.
Go to the ‘Discounts’ section.
Click on ‘New discount code’.
Fill in all the details of your discount. Here’s a list of what you can specify:
Code: You can name the discount code yourself or let the system generate a random code. Customers will use this code to apply the discount in the booking widget.
Discount type: This is the category to which the discount code belongs. You can choose among ‘Holidays’, ‘Rebook coupons’, ‘New customer’, ‘Special event’, or ‘Other’.
Discount percentage: You can set the price reduction value.
Valid From: This "custom" option allows you to choose the exact activation date for your discount code.
Expiration time: you can choose among ‘Never’, ‘One month’, ‘Three months’, ‘Six months’, or ‘One year’. If your preferred option is not there, you can manually enable or disable the code.
Usage limits: You can choose to enable the discount:
One time per customer (customers will be recognized by their email)
Limit the number of times it can be used in total, or
Apply it only to specific services.

What happens if I apply a discount only to specific services?
If you apply a discount only to specific services, there are a few things to consider:
If a discount code is built for a specific service (e.g., "Haircuts") but the customer books multiple services (e.g., a "Haircut" and a "Manicure"), the discount only applies to that specific service.
If the customer enters that same "Haircut" discount code, but only has a "Manicure" in their cart, the coupon will return an error.
This happens because the discount is tied to a specific Line Item. If that specific line item is removed from the order, the discount is removed as well.
How do discount codes work in the booking widget?
Customers can directly add a discount code when making an online booking through the booking widget. The discount will automatically be deducted from the total price.
When checking out an appointment in the register, you will see that the customer made the online booking using a discount code.
If you enable online payments, the discount will be calculated on the total of the services, not on the transaction fee.
How do I edit a discount in Salonized?
If you want to update a discount you’ve previously created:
Log in to Salonized.
Click on Marketing.
Select Discounts from the top menu.
Choose the discount you wish to change.
Click Edit discount on the right-hand side.
Adjust your settings as needed.
Click Save.
Note: Once a discount is saved, the Code and Discount Percentage can no longer be edited to ensure your reports stay accurate.
How can I stop offering a discount code on Salonized?
To disable a discount code:
Click on the three dots on the right side of the discount code.
Click on the pencil icon (‘Edit’).
Disable the discount code by switching the toggle to the left.
Customers can no longer use the discount code in the booking widget. You can always re-enable the discount code at a later time.
To delete a discount code:
Click on the three dots on the right side of the discount code.
Click on the bin icon (‘Delete’).
Confirm your choice by ticking the warning box (‘I'm aware that this action can not be undone’).
Click on ‘Delete discount code’.
