Guide to the Treatwell identity verification
Guide to the Treatwell identity verification

Learn how to successfully complete the Treatwell Marketplace verification procedure.

Updated over a week ago

To satisfy current regulations (specifically, PSD2 compliance) Treatwell has introduced the Know-Your-Customers (KYC) process. This process ensures added security by verifying your identity online, similar to an in-person identity check. Treatwell uses Stripe Identity to help provide a secure and reliable environment.

If you have linked your Salonized account to the Treatwell Marketplace or plan to do so, you will need to verify your identity to receive payments.

⚠️ Please note: Make sure to have you Chamber of Commerce (KvK) number ready before you begin.

To start the verification process, go to the Treatwell icon on the left-hand side of the navigation bar and click on "Complete identity verification." You will then be redirected to Stripe, where you can follow the next steps.

Step 1: Choose your business type

Please make sure to enter the correct business type here, as you cannot return to this page once submitted. Get in touch with our support team in case you filled in the wrong business type.

Select the type of business that applies to your salon. You can choose from the following options:

  • Individual: A person acting as a private individual and responsible for their own rights and obligations.

  • Private company: A business owned by one or more individuals that is not publicly traded.

  • Legal entity with corporate status: A company recognized as a separate legal entity, independent of its owners, with its own rights and responsibilities.

  • Partnership without corporate status: A business where the owners are personally liable for the debts and obligations of the company.

  • Non-profit organization with corporate status: A non-commercial organization that exists as an independent legal entity, such as a foundation or association.

  • Non-profit organization without corporate status: A non-commercial organization where the owners are personally liable for the organization’s obligations.

Not sure which one to choose? Go to the Chamber of Commerce (KvK) website, and look up your company to check your details.

Step 2: Add your business details

  1. Enter the legal business name. This must match exactly with the name linked to your tax ID.

  2. Enter your KvK number*. A KvK number consists of 8 digits. Go to the Chamber of Commerce (KvK) website, and look up your company to check your number.

  3. Enter the address where your salon is registered.

Step 3: Add your personal details

  1. Enter your first name, last name, and date of birth.

  2. Enter your personal address.

  3. Indicate whether you own 25% or more of the business and if you are a member of the company’s board of directors.

Step 4: Add business owners and directors

In this step, you can indicate whether there are additional owners who own 25% or more of the business. If not, you can proceed without adding any owners.

Step 5: Review and submit

In the final step, all the information you previously entered will be displayed. Review the details and make any necessary edits.

If everything is correct, click the "Agree and submit" button to confirm and complete the verification.

Stripe identity usually verifies the submission within 1 hour. If the submission is rejected, the verification process should be fulfilled again.
